    Hi there,

I'm looking to get my GF a watch for Christmas and want to get one that quite a classic / really good brand / etc. I'm looking for something that quite stylish, and refined. Not something for casual, everyday use but more for special occassions, weddings, etc. etc.. I'm workign to a price range of 150-275 max

I know nothing about ladies watch brands but have been looking at the following:

    DKNY
    Fossill
    Guess
    Bulgari
    Swaroskvi
    Citizen
    Jacques Lemans
    Desiel

What are peoples opinions? Are there obvious ones that I am missing that might be in my price range. Anyone got any recommendations?

How would you rate these brands???

Really want to get something she'd like

    Festina

Both Fossil & Festina use quartz movements manufactured by a subsidiary of Citizen and are good quality and reliable. I wear both Fossil & Festina (& Seiko) men's watches and find them excellent value for money in and around the price-point you mention.

As a personal perference, I would steer clear of fashion brands that do not have a watchmaking heritage (DKNY is one example). I don't think you can go too far wrong with Tissot. Some nice watches here and here that might suit and fall into your price range.

Bulgari are in a different league to the rest named in your list. I cannot see you getting one of those at your budget.

Seiko are a solid brand, but don't know what their ladies watches are like. Jacques Lemans are a bit cheap feeling IMO.
