Depending on what county council/VEC your grant is from, it'd either be sent into the college, or it'd be lodged into your bank account. From the UCD site, it seems that the following do bank transfers: Dublin City Council , Dun Laoghaire/ Rathdown , Fingal CC, South Dublin CC, Cork CC, Roscommon CC, Wexford CC and City of Dublin VEC.

If i may be so cheeky as to ask a further question to this one :)........
if you ARE accepted for the grant, and then they reduce the amount of the grant in the budget in december, is the reduction effective immediately or does it take effect at the start of the next academic year ( September) ?
    cheers

hey sorry for jumping in on your conversation, but need to ask a question.i am very new to student grants and just wondering does only particular colleges accept them,as far as i know Dublin business school does not but for instance if i applied for a course in trinity would student grant cover some of the heavy fee??if not what is the alternative.is the amount they give you calculated by ratio?

If you get the grant then they generally pay all of or 50% of the student contribution fee

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
