Hi All I am wondering if someone can help resolve an issue I am having with trying to get two tellies working from one aerial I am basically trying to connect a bush tv(with Saorview) and an aldi saorview box to an aerial. The following scenarios I have done:

    1. bush tv(with Saorview) to aerial – signal
    2. aldi saorview box to aerial – signal
    3. bush tv(with Saorview) and aldi saorview box to aerial via splitter – bush tv(with Saorview) has signal(as bush tv(with Saorview) is in out port 1 of splitter), aldi saorview box( in out port 2 )no signal.
    4. bush tv(with Saorview) and aldi saorview box to aerial via splitter – aldi saorview box (in out port 1 of splitter) signal, bush tv(with Saorview )( in out port 2 )no signal.
    5. if I try and just touch all wires together aerial with first wire signal and the minute 3 wire connects signal is only available on the one.
    6. I have tried splitter on a different house using the aldi box and a Samsung tv with same scenarios as 1-4 and each time I have a signal on both tvs.

So if anyone can recommend what I can do to resolve this issue as my head is wrecked now as it not making any sense for me. I am guessing it mhz issue which I do not have a clue off I did use 2 different type of splitters 1-900mhz and 1-1200mhz</p>

Is the same cable responsible for the 'no signal' situation in all cases?

Do you have an internal or external aerial?

Is there an amplifier in the system?

Have you tried replacing the splitter with a distribution amp?

it is the same cable used

    aerial is external

    no amplifier

    parts used
aerial, cable, saorview box, tv(with saorview)

all work perfect on own but if connect splitter or touch wire only one work

    Is it a 2-way splitter you're using?

A photo of it showing your cables & connections might help.

splitter is a 4 way (1 input and 4 out)

Try a decent 2-way splitter, something like this.

the splitters do work. have tried them in a seperate house and they link to two telles(one saorview box other tv with saorview) no bother from the one aerial.wonder do i need amplifier or a distribution amp

As far as I'm aware, the 4-way splitter will have greater losses even without all the outputs in use. If you only need a 2-way, use a 2-way.
