Sky + Box

    Hi I got a Pace Sky + Box Model No 6.2.14 with viewing card for free, tried using it instead of Standard Sky Box & got following message on screen THIS IS THE WRONG CARD FOR THIS SET TOP BOX PLEASE INSERT CORRECT CARD, anybody got any ideas or do I have to contact Sky, Thanks

    contact sky and get. them to pair the card with the box

    Hi I am using a sky box for fta and would like to up date the e p g from other channels. seeing that usa 5 is now free and utv are in the " other channels" as were the ITVs . Had it somewhere where you went into Sky news 501 and did something but I cant find it

    If its just a sky box and not a sky hd box, and you only use it for FTA channels, take the irish sky card out of box, unplug box from mains, then replug into mains and box will set itself to uk epg. You will get Five usa etc on epg. Never put Irish card in box again.

    Tried this and it worked great, Now I have a friend who is a sky customer and is not receiving UTV or ITV even in the "other channels" I suppose she should ring them but I wonder would this work for her, she has a more up to date box as she can record, could she just take out the card and unplug just to see what she would receive if she stopped ppaying for it and could she just insert the card back again kuntil she had arraanged with sky to discontinue her subscription

    Yes, as long as its not a sky hd box. This trick does not work on sky HD. You need a UK sky card wityh a hd box. But if your friend has a sky+ box this trick will work and she can reinsert Irish card to get Irish tv back until she cancels.
