I have some M2TS Video files I need to convert to a format compatible with most DVD players. Is AVI the safest format to choose. Should I go for MP4? I've looked at one or two software packages online, but frankly, judging by the appalling standard of English, it didn't inspire a lot of confidence in the product. If there's a good free converter, I'd like to give it a try, but if none of the free ones are reliable I would consider buying a recommended product. Ultimately I want to burn the files to DVD.

    ConvertXtoDVD will do it anyway.

    Handbrake might.

Just downloaded AVC. Simple to instal and looks very uncomplicated. Conversion worked but audio and video are violently out of sync. Tried output to AVI and also MP4. It seems the video is converting at a much slower rate than the audio resulting in the non-sync. The audio finishes 8-10 seconds before the video on a one-and-a-half minute clip. What am I doing wrong?
