Mk4 Golf unplugged cable

Hi, recently bought a 1.4 mk4 golf. I was clearing a block in the EGR today and when I lifted up the air filter housing, I found an unplugged cable. I can't see a socket for it to go into so I was just wondering if anyone could give me any pointers as to what it's for?
Sorry for the quality of the picture. Just took it quickly with my phone as I was reassembling everything.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hard to say from the picture but I think that looks like the cable for the knock sensor which is bolted to the engine block underneath the manifold. Can't be sure without seeing it though.

Thanks for that. Where do I have to look or what do I have to take off to find that? Tried to google it and haven't found anything concrete as to where to find the knock sensor.
