Hey guys, tried restoring factory settings on my iPhone (erase all content/media) because I'm giving it to a friend and now it seems my sim is now locked out? Has anybody experienced such a problem? Any help is appreciated.

You need to enter the sim pin number

It doesn't give me the chance too, just says pin is locked, and I haven't entered it in incorrectly more than 3 times?! Think I may have done something wrong when I was restoring factory settings..

You may have inserted the SIM incorrectly - try taking it out & inserting again.
