Oh no! What's wrong with my camera?

    Hi all,

I took out my camera for the first time in a while this eve, took a few shots of the kids while dinner cooked. They took fine, I was just fiddling about. I put on a macro filter, and the first couple of shots were fine, but it quickly went pearshaped. The viewfinder seemed to fog up, as did the playbacked image until nothing could be seen but pale mist with speckles.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? Is that something stupid like condensation trapped under the filter (?) or dirt in the sensor maybe?

    TIA

It was probably steam off the dinner being cooked. Warm room and all that as well.

thanks! I thought that (that's why I mentioned the dinner - was a steamy bubbly stew too) but I went around with it, and all that could be seen were the little speckles.

am trying the turning it off and back on again trick. hopefully that'll clear it

Was the camera brought in from the cold and used in a warm room? If so then you can actually break the camera from the condensation so be careful to let the camera warm up to room temp before using.

True - you need to be careful to let your camera 'warm up' and cool down before ussing it. Taking it from extremes of temp. and using it straight away before letting it adjust to ambient temp. will result in damage.:(

that's what happened zero and nager, I had brought it in from the cold car into the kitchen. But I tried it there today and it's working again, thank god.

Thanks for that info, I'll have to be careful.:)
