    hi,

when wiring a burner should the pump be wired off the stat also? ie the pump kicks in only when the burner is actually running as opposed to pump running all the time even when burner is in cycle mode.

    thanks a lot

It would depend on the boiler, some have pump overruns.

What type of boiler are you talking ??

Its more advisable to take the pump off the time and the burner off the stat.

agree with billy but just to add
wire the pump to a pipe stat
then the pump will only run when the water in the system is warm
also the pump will over run when the heating shuts off ,thus still heating the rads(hot water)and preventing high limit stat from activating

    +1 meercat,

Place the pipe stat on the flow pipe as close to the boiler as possible, and set to between 55-60 deg, if you set it less you will be at risk of condensation in the boiler which will attack the and rot the boiler
