best VAN at 3 k euro?

    Hi, i am planing buy van, at around 3 k euro (ford transit size), not now, will wait for a while, i am not bad with cars, but absolutely know nothing about vans. what vans are most reliable ? would vw transporter would be good ? or ford transit ?
    main thing is engine and gearbox has to be reliable, all the rest doable.

    Isn't the transit a 2.4 unit that's also used in the Defender? Transit for me anyway, not sure you would get a decent Transporter at that price..

    The 2.4 was only introduced in 2006 afaik....

    Good luck in getting a 2006 transit for 3k though :D

    Yea transits are great!! Versatile van. Second hand vans especially in Ireland give so much trouble. Stick with a car unless you really have to use a van. Hiace at 3K could be good too. Wouldn't touch a VW for 3K myself but that's just because of my own experience with two of them already. They both broke my heart, unlucky maybe?

    Transit definitely. Hiaces are very heavy on diesel and low spec.
