Upgraded to 4s and the iMessage and Facetime will not activate at all. I've restored iPhone and still nothing...?

Have you updated your software to iOS5.0.1 in Settings=>General=>Software Update & definitely enabled both Facetime and iMessage in Settings=>Facetime=>ON & Settings=>Messages=>iMessages=>ON ?

Sorry to ask,but just to confirm you have taken these steps.

Activating FaceTime and iMessage requires the phone to send an international text to a UK number. Are you able to send international texts?

Yes make sure SMS is enabled Settings=> Messages=>SMS/MMS: MMS Messaging=>ON.

This is more or less what your settings should look like -click on image to enlarge:

Right underneath that setting tap 'Receive At' & make sure your Apple ID is entered correctly & also that your phone number & email address is also entered correctly:

    The same for Facetime:

Just bear in mind that iMessage is incorporated into the Message app, so the only way you'll know you're sending an iMessage is after you add the contact details - if the contact has iMessage enabled the top of the screen will display 'New iMessage', their name will appear with a blue backround in the 'To:' box, 'iMessage' will appear in the message box & the 'Send' button will also be blue:

whereas if they don't the above will be green & the top of the screen will display 'New Message':

If sending photos it's best to start off in Messages & attach from there, as if you start off in Photos & choose to send by message from there the 'to' & 'Send' buttons are always blue even when you know the recipient does not have iMessage, making it look as if you're sending an iMessage, when in fact you're not. Even if the recipient has iMessage enabled the top of the screen displays 'New Message' but the send button is blue, which can be confusing.
