Hannspree aren't Saorview certified and people have posted here with problems regarding MHEG-5 digital text with the Saorview channels. Do a search for Hannspree here in the forum.

I'm open to correction, but I'm told this problem does not affect the LED LCD models, for some reason. It probably wouldn't be a problem with the older LCD (non LED) models too, if a firmware update was forthcoming (unlikely).

Only certified sets are Saorview compatible.

Non-Saorview sets may or may not be compatible with Irish transmissions. You'll only know after you buy and only compatibility with what is transmitted today, not the standard or what might happen after ASO or whatever.
