    Assuming the UPC modem / router gives out enough IP addresses, that is all you need.

    yes, you just need a switch.

    you could connect a separate switch to every port on the router if you wanted to and it's only going to become an issue once you're using more than 250 odd IP's (i don't think the thompson supports vlan's), so you've got a way to go before you run into problems. :)

    also, the thompson supports gigabit network speeds, so you'd be better off going with the more expensive switch of those two if you want to make the most of it.
