    GRRRRRR!!! AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

OK I feel much better (not):(

Having the the cant hear the other side on a call issue I decided to restore my iPhone 4S.

Well time came to restore from back up and I get a back up corrupted message

All my photos gone, all my contacts gone...damn you iTunes , damn you to hell.

I wouldn't care but most of the photos where of my 12 month old boy :(

I managed to sync contacts from an older back up but I had recently gone through them and updated them

Luckily I had saved all the photos from the camera roll onto my HHD when I upgraded from the iPhone 4 but have taken a lot since then and videos of his 1st birthday:(

The last backup besides today was from a month ago but I had backed up my phone only the other day and it wasn't there:mad:.

    /end rant

This has happened to me a few times now, what I do now is every time I do a restore I copy all the photos over to my computer from the iPhone using attached hard drive feature.

I think I'll do that too from now on. Took me almost two days to get the phone back to we're it was.

And after all that it didn't make a blind bit of difference. First call I made I couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me.

I'm sorry op but when it comes to photos all I can say is back up back up.
I learnt a long time ago that I can just about get anything on my phone that I lost.
I can download the music again the videos the files but not the photos.

So to anyone that's thinking of a restore back up your photos.

    My pics are auto-iclouded.

I periodically sort and save them on my pc.

Picasa then auto backups them to web albums. They are then auto synced over the air to my iPad.

Little effort, complete security. After my twins were born I swore I'd back the pics and vids religiously. Apple and google make it so easy.

I agree with you about backup but note that videos don't go through icloud and photo stream. You need to specifically sync them to your mac

Not entirely true. It doesn't work with Photo Stream, but video in your camera roll is uploaded to iCloud as part of the backup.

Sorry, yes that is right. To actually transfer a video recorded on my iPhone 4 I had to physically connect it to my mac. It wouldn't transfer via photo stream or wifi sync?
