Tempted to get an iPad 2 for xmas.

Not sure should I just hold off though... Is the iPad 3 100% coming out in Jan?

If I bought an iPad2 now and sold in a couple of months to upgrade would I be taking a massive hit?

Judge the hit on the price of the ipad1 now on adverts

I wouldn't put much stock in these January rumours. If you wait you'd better be willing to wait until March.

The iPad 2 is a fine device, apart from a retinal display I can't see them adding much to it and even that isn't totally necessary. I personally think the display is lovely.

Think of it like this, imagine it's 6 years ago and you are in the market for an iPod, would you be asking is the 4 gen ipod or should I hold off till the 5th gen, in the end of the day it's a music player. There is very little difference between each generation. The iPad 2 is cool and will make a really nice gadget to play around with this Christmas. Waiting the the 3 is only going to make you pissed off with it low availability and over hypeness and in the end of the day it will be almost identical in functionality

waiting between iPad 1 and 2 I can understand because of the camera, but between 2 and 3, I personally don't see what they could add to make it a killer feature.

Yeah this was my plan. Was hoping that if I did sell the iPad 2 to upgrade the 3 next March, the BF discount would offset the majority of the depreciation anyway! Win-win I guess :P

Think I'll go for it, really want one for watching movies :D

it's 35 quid that they have no obligation to knock off here in ireland at all. black friday is an american thing. maybe if we actually celebrated thanksgiving here there'd be a reasonable case.

take the cuts as a nice bonus, looking for more off is a little petty imo.

The ipad 2 is certainly a fine piece of apple goods. LOVE my iphone and now I think I wont ever use it as much again, the ipad practically sings to ya its that interactive with you as a user in every single way....omg Im blown away and so glad I got it. I know perhaps you want to upgrade but nothing will take me away from my 3GS, everyone laughed and said you should upgrade but Im glad I didnt. Loads of people regretted updating to the iphone 4 and 4s due to little or no differences.

Go ahead treat yourself and I can guarantee ya you wont regret it. :)

Lads thinking of buying herself an Ipad2 for Xmas. I see you can get it with wifi/3g combo.
If you dont have wifi at home are these not worth getting?
We have good 3g reception on our iphones at home e.g i can watch live tv on them with no buffering etc?

Buy it. If you have strong 3G on ther phone, you should have same on ipad. She'll love it. A good wifi setup at home does add to it though. Just do a bit of homework on your 3G data plans first as you will download more on the pad, particularly populating a new device with apps and the increased time spent browsing ( much more so than the iphone ) on the nice big screen;)
