Bus from Dublin to Mayo

    Is there any bus like the 'go' bus from ucd to mayo or even dublin city centre to mayo istead of bus eireann which takes half the day to get home??:confused:

    There is a train.
    I can't believe a bus would be any better.
    Driving a bus from Westport to Dublin city centre even without stopping, is still at least 3.5 hours.

    I'd say the main factor is the bus is usually a fraction the cost of a train ticket, unless you get lucky with the online booking.

    It is o bus eireann service which stops in every village, and carries local commuters.
    It is also cheap on gobus or citilink from Galway to Dublin, as they are almost all the time full.

    I can't see though bus from Mayo to Dublin being full at all times. Therefore an operator wouldn't be able to provide a good prices.
    Maybe a minibus service would be an option.

    If there's a gap in the market I'm sure sooner or later someone will make business on it.

    Bartons used to run for years from Dublin City all the way to Belmullet Leaving after 6 on friday with minimal stops. Dont know if still running.

    Michael Moran of castlebar does a direct service to the city centre.
