Recommend me a good diesel car for under 6k

    I'm selling an Astra Sport petrol and hoping to get 6k for it. I have a bit of a commute to work so looking for a diesel car.

    Any ideas of where to start? Obviously I'd be looking for a modest enough mileage seeing as I do up to 500 miles p/w

    Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi, Great car does about 550miles to full tank. Also if you buy in northern Ireland and you are paying VRT on it (car is classed as a hatchback - because window & boot open together) but is same size as a saloon eg passat, bora etc.
