I am buying a new VW Jetta.

I have got quoted different prices with different add ons and tax incentives and warrenties etc etc

Any advice on the best way to negotiate a new car.

I just want a simple best price for the best car, I hate all this messing.

    Any advice appriciated.

Play the various prices off the various garages, see which one is better bottom line, that's the way to get the best price. You need to do some work or messing.

I'm buying new VW Golf. My advice: SHOP AROUND!

Do you have a trade in? I've been to every VW dealer along the east coast and the prices vary wildly. I found I got the best quotes and trade in prices from non-Dublin dealers.

If you PM me I'll recommend a few garages that gave me the best deals.

When shopping with the better half for a new VW last year we found the Dublin\Kildare\Meath dealers wouldn't haggle.

After a recommendation we visited Al Hayes in Portumna. He was the best dealer for price, but be warned, the customer service is abysmal.

From my own experience, the staff don't give a damn about customers, just their quotas. Trying to get an honest answer is also a challenge.

A mate a huge trouble with a Jetta (previous generation); specifically the parking brake (electric handbrake) locked and immobilized the car. Getting a new part took ages and Sheeys in Naas were very unresponsive. It was a known flaw in the car; ask the dealer if it has been ironed out.
