The normal run of them is approx €100 to buy. Any carpenter worth his salt will fit one in 2 or 3 hours (another €100). You will also need to get a bit of archatraive for it.

    I have one of these:

    http://www.fakro.com/htmlen/314.php

Most hardwares have them for €89

Find a carpenter who'll do a nixer for you!

Reilig is right, i paid €99 for a fakro one a few months back, the carpender charged €100 labour and €40 for materials.

(we closed the old door and put the new one in a safer place. He even put back in timbers in the old doorway and plaster slabbed it and skimmed.) :D

Hint, if your sister is ever thinking of flooring out the attic, put the sheets up before the stairs is fitted. Saves alot more cuts in the Ply :p

No need, the length is easily trimmed once the ceiling is under 10'. Any carpenter will adjust the size of the opening in about an hour.
