Im heading to US next week and in need of a new phone. Just wondering about buying a handset over there. Will most of them work in europe if they are unlocked? Any other things to consider?

Also any great deals people have noticed on phones there?
Looking for touchscreen phone with camera, and a decent browser. In the HTC mould really, something similiar

Thanks to anyone that can help!

Don't get a sprint mobile anyways. They use cdma whereas all the other carriers in the world use GSM.
If the phone is GSM and unlocked then yes it will work over here.
Dunno bout any good deals about.

you're looking at buying from t-mobile or at&t. Verizon and sprint won't work here.

I'm over there regularly enough and there's never really a lot for sale at would make it worth the hassle to be honest. You'd be looking at a pay as you go option and even with the $/€ rate it wasn't that much cheaper the last time i checked.

Tablets on the other hand (or electronics in general) are good value.

OP are you just heading to the US on a holiday and thinking of picking up a phone while there? If so I don't think they work out cheaper and it is hard enough to find non network phones anyway
