    Hi,

I just re-installed Win 7 Ultimate on my laptop.
When I try to RDP to it from my PC, I get login failed.
I can log in on the laptop with: <myname>:<mypass>, but I can't when I rdp from the PC to the laptop.
However, I can log in using the u:p medion:<mypass>
I have looked in user accounts and the only user account there is <myname>.
    Guest account is off.
The name of the laptop is: medionlap

Can't find where it is getting this medion username from..?!

    Any ideas?

is medion is the name of the pc ?

because unless you are using domains then users with the same name on different machines are different users

if you set both to the same password it helps

    or give username as myname@medion

No, the name of the PC is dellpc. I log in on both as <myname> and I realise the accounts are local to whichever machine.
What's baffling me is the fact that I don't have a 'medion' username set up anywhere, yet I can't rdp to the laptop and login using <myname>:<mypass> (as set up locally on medionlap).

    Thanks for the response!
