Looking for a nice car with a load of power. Was happy enough to go with a 2.4JTD Alfa 159 but cant find a decent one.

Ive come across another motor which has taken my liking, a Volvo s40 T5. High tax on them but the insurance is decent. Anyone here ever owned one and what do they think? Anything to look out for? Or shoud i keep waiting for the right 159?

I drove one for a while (about two weeks) .. while it was quick it was a pig in the handling department and didn't give any confidence what so ever.

It was very thirsty (as to be expected), very harsh ride and cramped inside.

I wouldn't be going out rushing to buy one, unless silly cheap. I reckon there were only a handful actually sold in ireland.

Could you go to the UK to find a nice 159, plenty of nice ones over there? I'd wait anyway!

Its coming to that. But dont really want to go the whole way over there tbh.

Just found this up North for about 10K all in. Just over my budget but i'd be tempted.

However a trip across could get a nicer car for less, but of course it is another thing to think of when spending thousands of euro that many people mightn't want.

As for that 159,looks very clean however I'm not sure on the 18's on that car, I think the same design wheel in 17 form would be better and give a better ride. Also I am almost certain that I have heard/read somewhere about people having trouble with the red paintwork on some 159's, that it is easily faded and damaged. I'm not certain but I have a feeling I read it somewhere.

A fine car though and a really good engine along with those looks and that interior make it very appealing!:D
