If you are on Back to Education Allowance while in College, you will only get your reg fee paid for you

    Hi,
    Thank you for the information.
I can't have back to education allowances, as this is only for undergraduate courses.
I am doing a posgraduate course. I wonder if I would be qualified to recive a grant for my fees and maintenace? as I am recibing mortgage interest supplementation.
I dont know what to do, very anxious.

Is it a taught Postgrad? you would considered unavailable for work if you are registered as a full time student and lose your JSA and MS but possible get the grant dependent on your circumstance. Or are you claiming as a qualified adult ?

    Hi,
Thank u so much for the replay. Yes it is a taught Postgrad. I was told that my grant is in process and they might let me know in January next year. Not good. If I lose my JSA and MS. Do I need to repay back the money that I got from JSA and MS?
another question: Wha do you mean by qualified adult?

Are you claiming in your own right or as part of a joint claim with a partner/spouse.

If you are not available for or actively seeking Full time work as per the social welfare you must close your claim as this would be considered as fraud. Speak to your office to see if the postgrad hours make you ineligible.. you can also as your SU/College about the Student Assistant Fund to tied you over until the Grant is processed.

Many thanks for the email. Yes I am claiming on my own rights. Which office will you suggest to speak to see if the posgraduate hours make me eligible? college can gave 200euros which doesn't cover nothing.
How will I close my claim as they have all my records? and if it is considered as a fraud, what are the concequences for me? Do I need to repay back? Oh my God what I am going to do. My x husband left with an affair. I was paying the mortgage of my house but lost a job and I was unsuccessfull to find a new job. Then got JSA and MS. Any other suggestion on what could I do?
