Beautiful venue and although a bit pricey I would think its worth it. We had looked into it as a venue for our wedding but the price for exclusivity on the castle was too much for the small amount of guests we would bring.

same as, a friend recommended it, we loved it but it was just too expensive for us. If you can afford it, I'd say go for it. It's the place people love to go to for fancy tea and cake when friends visit..

We're getting married here next year and all in all very happy with them. The girl (Lucia) that we've been dealing with has been brilliant - also was able to negotiate too which was great. We've a smaller number coming to the wedding (80 - 100, which I think is big but apparently not!) but they have a partition curtain which can be dropped in the marquee which can be used for smaller number weddings.

The thing that sunk it for me was to have the wedding/meal in the Castle or exclusivity to close the castle to the public we had to buy out all 20 rooms in the Castle at €220 per room.

Have been at a wedding and stayed there.. excellent venue.. rooms beautiful and for your Photos.. man the grounds are amazing.

I have copped a few images from a friends wedding a while back and they are super..

The jetty is good, the boat house, even the rooms in the main house away from the stables are brilliant so if you can spend the cash then i'd say do it.

If you can get access to the church on the grounds too...

I think you pay for what you get. Am I jealous... yea much!

I was at a ball there which was pretty similar to a wedding, they had to take the entire castle, and it was in the marquee. In all honesty it was one of the poorer events i'd ever been too. The people that took on the rooms in castle were told which rooms they were staying in but the castle changed peoples rooms for some unknown reason. A lot of people were staying in the lodge too and the reception only had two people on, one of whom had to go with guests to show them their rooms. In short there were a huge amount of people trying to check in and get ready but the staff weren't able to deal with it effectively. When guests of the ball started arriving for the drinks reception, other guests were still in their jeans and runners in the reception.

The rooms that i saw were in serious need of updating, most didn't have a shower but a bucket next to the bath! One room didn't even have a en suite, the bathroom was across the public hall. The kitchens were closed to prepare for the ball so nobody could get a sandwich or bite when they arrived. They were told to go to a service station in another town. The drinks reception was ok, but a bit sloppy. Dirty glasses everywhere!!! And i mean everywhere from the inner hall right to the marquee. The whole night they just did not have they staff they needed to provide a decent level of service. Steak was one of the menu options but they would only cook it to medium. They were understaffed with waiting staff and so were serving tables at different times, ie not eating together. When we were finshing our starters other tables were nearly finished mains. At the end of the night we couldn't even get a cup of tea, and we were staying there! When we went to reception there was nobody on. Although they said we had exclusivity of the castle, in reality all they did was put a sign on the front door saying private event, people still came into the castle and had a walk around. A few people came into the marquee and had to be asked to leave.

I must stress that this was a ball and not a wedding. I would hope that they would be far more prepared for a wedding but certainly from this experience it is in no way worth the money, it was all sloppy and poorly prepared. For the price they charged it was just ridiculous.

I'm also looking at Castle Leslie as a potential wedding venue for the ceremony and reception.

Has anyone had their wedding there recently and if so, would you have be able to provide a approx. price that you had to pay?

I was given a quote for pp approx 115 to 130e. This includes reception drink and nibbles, 6 course meal and wine as well as evening snacks. I've only started my search, but this seems a little steep? Anyone got any other information they can provide?
