I don't mind Christmas, but I absolutely hate New Years.

Why has "bah humbug" taken place of the more apropriate "atari jaguar"?

    it's a small joy, for a smaller man :D

Hating Christmas is going out of fashion. The new hating Christmas is hating people who hate Christmas.

I read that as "someone elses cock".

I was all "Wooow there, how do YOU celebrate Christmas"?!

Anyway. It's now officially the Christmas season. So thread bump.

All holidays are horrible when you're single. All they do is remind you that you're alone.

    Hmmm.

Gonna put you down as a 'maybe'.

    Hate it.

It is a commercialised monstrosity. Honestly, the people that make the excuse about it being for "family time don't be such a Scrooge lolz!!11", you can spend time with them anytime of the bloody year.

Went shopping earlier(yeh connected with my other thread :D) and what was there to cheer me up? A feckin Shakin Stevens Xmas song when I arrived at the shopping centre. When I was leaving they were playing a Cliff Richard song! Arrrgghh!!

You know what, I really feel for retail workers to put up with that torture.

I was telling my friend that works in Dixons how much I disliked Christmas the other day and he tried to sell me a SAD light.

.. is now a BIG problem for many people. Christmas, birthdays etc are now an extra burden on the recently appointed debt-slaves of the post-Celtic Tiger Ireland.

For most people. these days can no longer be afforded.

I enjoy Christmas Eve with friends and family, besides that? Meh

Santa, decorated trees, presents and Fairytale of New York can f*ck right off until then.

Don't like all the drunk and noisy people on the streets making a fuss...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

Its the same as every other day for me. I have an "i get you nothing, you get me nothing rule" and like my dinner everyday i choose to eat alone rather than with the family. I used to get myself a present every year but couldnt be arsed anymore. TV is a tad bit better around the xmas period though, especially eastenders.

I doubt Christmas made you so bitter.

Christmas Eve night is the best part of Christmas for me, it has a special atmosphere.
