my brother just found his employer stoped paying his prsi since 2009 (he worked there since 1999) . he is even having trouble getting his wages every week now.. what can he do about this. if he leaves can he get any benifits.. he is a mechanic and would start his own buisness if he could get some kind of help.

    any advice greatly appreciated

The official advice would be that he ought to go to his local Social Welfare Office and request a Non-Compliance form for the payment of PRSI.

If he fills in this form, an inspector from the social welfare office will investigate.

However, if I were in his shoes, I would first threaten the employer with this form. Seeing that he is quite serious, his employer might then see the payment of wages and PRSI as a priority, as opposed to something he can afford to put on the long finger.,
