Second hand sky plus hd box

    Hi all,

I have a bit of a wonky Sky plus hd box (have tried all the system resets etc) so as thinking about getting a second hand one to tie me over.

I'm sure my existing card will be fine, but, for example, if I order a UK box would I be stuck with BBC1 on 101, ITV on 103 etc and no RTE? Or will the card keep my existing channels.

Uk boxes are much more plentiful on ebay

Also, what's the warranty on the Sky plus hd box as I've only got the thing 18 months?

    Thanks for the help

Once you have a current sky subscription, you will have RTE on 101 etc. Its only if you use the box without a card that you will have BBC London on 101(for a UK box).

I'm not sure about the warranty but I think its a year. Others may confirm this for you.

You will probably have to call sky to pair your card with the used box, they will ask for box serial number etc but its fairly straightforward process.
Think original warranty in 12 months

Yep, I did it recently.I could view the Irish channels on the HD box but couldn't record or pause etc. until I called them to pair the card. It was all set up in 5 minutes though they did say it could take up to 4 hours.
