Does this happen anyone else when using youtube or TED Mobile app to play videos or a link from Facebook?

'Sorry, this video cannot be played'

It is SUPER irritating , why oh why can't the video be played????

It there a solution , what is the point in having an app that over 90% of videos won't play?

Does this happen on the iPhone? If not I will happily jump ship to apple. This message makes me want to throw my phone into the liffey.

Sorry about the 'rant' tone of this message but it really bothers me that it doesn't work, I just want to watch the videos, I feel like I pay a fortune every month for a pile of crap that doesn't work.

Bring back the nokia 3210, what is the point of these smart phones if they don't work!!!

    What phone do you have?

It was happening to me for a while and I found a solution. When the video opens up, the "HQ" button will appear in the corner. QUicky tap it before it disappears and your video should play.

I dunno if there's a way you can have your videos play in the non-HQ mode by default but I haven#t found it yet. Give it a try anyway.

I get that from time to time sometimes starting it again works. I think that message displays even if there is a connection problem.

Hmm I don't get any HD symbol ?

Ive got a sony ericsson......maybe the phones just old and I need to accept this fact. It may be time to shell out and but some new flash model.

My problem is Im going traveling soon and don't want to commit to another contract but to buy out of contract is expensive .....€€€€

    Dilema...its a tough life!

I have a Wildfire which is a sweet little phone but the drawback is that the screen isn't High Res. sometimes you won't see the HQ symbol but if you try replay the vide you might see it? Sometimes it happens for me.

I find once you can switch the HQ button off it works.

It seems there's a version of the YouTube app that gives you an option to play HQ by default so presumably you can do the opposite also:

I've never seen, installed or used this so don't take my word for it :)

In my experience when video doesn't play from sources like YouTube then it is most often down to Flash not being installed/up-to-date.

I found that if using Firefox (which i would normally recommend) or stock browser then video wont play but i've since started using Dolphin HD browser.

Obviously i've no idea what browser you're using or if this will help but since switching i've had no playback issues whatsoever.

Wife's Galaxy S had this issue. She had mentioned that Twitter app was stalling occasionally too.

I uninstalled the Twitter App and powered the phone off and on again and it worked. Reinstalled Twitter app and it stopped working again, so repeated the process and installed Tweetdeck instead.

    No problems since.

Could be a problem with your apn setting.
Had a similar issue with iPhone on O2 and turned out to be apn setting.
Does it happen on wifi as well as over mobile network(3G)?
