First of all, I wasn't 100% sure if this went in Technical or Questions, apologies if I'm wrong!

Okay, guys. I'm currently exploring the possibility of getting an M5 rail system and an M16 stock for my M4. However, I understand that the rails (which are G&P) will only fit G&P and TM AEGs. The trouble is my M4 is DBOYS.

So, do I need to find an alternative rail system or is there a way to make this work with my DBOYS M4 body?

    [EDIT]

Also, I vaguely remember hearing that if a TBB was a certain length something extra needed to be done? Can anyone clear that up?

    Cheers!

the G&P front end should fit, if not you may need to use the delta ring you already have. if you add a longer barrel you may need to change the cylinder in the g/box to one with more volume!

Cheers Thermo. So, just to make absolutely sure, it'll work if I use the delta ring? Can't afford to make a mistake on this, the M5 is a little too expensive to go "It doesn't fit, err sure so what?" :pac:

There's no certainties I'm afraid, but it should fit. DBoys are china made, so it may require a small bit of modification, but I highly doubt it. In any case, it wouldn't be extreme.

Whenever things say 'TM compatible' it's just letting you know what type of system it is for. DBoys are TM clones, so you're find.

im going to contradict some people hear but hay :)

the old tm m4s use plastic bodys and the d ring is not the same as the dboys because of this, if your looking to fit a g&p front end which is compatible with the old tm models it will not fit the dboys as it just does not have the threaded d ring

at the moment im at work so i can not check the link you have post, will have a look when i get home

The kit is for Tokyo Marui M-Series guns, and G&P Metal bodies. The rails also come with a G&P Delta ring, which fits straight onto a DBoys metal body (I have one on my own), so there really is no reason why it shouldn't fit :)

grand like i said can see the specific product details to see what is included and what is not

as long as you have the fitting and fixtures for the metal body, had a guy try and fit a tm compatible front end and barrel onto a clone body in the past and got rather confused when the delta ring on the front end did not have a thread

It's always good to have the voice of caution and devil's advocate. I had the same trouble in the past - Magpul MOE did not want to go onto an old JG M4 I had; outer barrel was off spec and it used that old TM-style Delta Ring. That was an...irritating experience :D

look i;ve made the mistakes myself, in airsoft I'm always hesitant to say something will fit 100% as their is no real standard across the industry, a gearbox may be called v2 but across all the company's you will find a scary difference in tolerances
