Direct Holidays / Thomas Cook on the brink!

    Just a heads up guys, Thomas Cook don't look to be in a very good position at the moment and if they were to go bankrupt it would create a whole world of pain for those with bookings! I know many people here in Ireland book with them both from Ireland and more popularly to book in Newry and fly over to the UK then.

    Never used them myself but the last thing someone wants it their travel plans ruined by the company going wallop.

    Iirc directholidays.ie are part of Thomas Cook (edit, it says it at the top of the site) - to my knowledge they would be fairly popular in Ireland. I think a lot of people may need to keep an eye on this news

    It's not just Direct Holidays they have as a brand here:

    Panorama (not listed on the link for some reason), Sunworld and Club 18-30 all operate out of Ireland too.

    They're a global operation and one would hope they're too big to fail for the sake of those who use package tour operators. Between them and TUI they really have the holiday market sewn up in Europe.
