    Hi

    I am currently unemployed and have medical card and need to go for MRI scan does the medical card cover this for me as i know these scans are expensive?

    Usually your GP refers you to a consultant who says you need a scan-medical card pays.Or GP says you need a scan he gives you a letter to bring to the scanner-medical card pays,(often long waits between all steps)

    I've had an MRI scan when in hospital and under a medical card, no charge.
