I know that grease and not oil is used on gearboxes but I'm wondering do they require periodic re-lubing. If so how often should this be done. Does it depend on how many shots are fired or should this be done for example once every 6 months / year. I've got a G&G GR15 and I've probably fired about 3000 shots through it by now. Thanks

it all depends on amount of usage. three thousand bb's isn't that much sure a day in the warehouse i used to go through as much. if the gearbox was greased properly and is shimmed correctly then it should last a fair few months of solid gaming, you can sometimes tell by the sound of the gears if the grease isn't doing the job and it needs attention. if in doubt leave it in for a routine slap and tickle.
