Time to introduce my nephew (5) and niece (3) to gaming. I'll be staying with my parents for Christmas and they'll be visiting for a few days. I think I'll bring my Wii with me and see if they have any interest.

I noticed that Gamestop have a 3 for 2 offer on lots of games, and Mario Kart, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics are all covered by that offer (so I can get all 3 with change from €50). They also have Zelda Crossbow Training and Wii Play for €6 each.

I also have Wii Sports Resort myself, and I have the 2 Boom Blox games.

Has anyone with a Wii and young kids come across any games that are suitable and fun for ages 5 and under?

Kirbys Epic Yarn, any of the lego games. All good because death is not an option!!!

Theres a Dora game and Diego game, both fairly crap, but my kids liked them when they were younger. Carnival games, again terrible, with flawed controls but the kids like them.

Wii Party, wii play, wii sports resort.

Couple on Wiiware. Bonsai barber is easy enough for the kids to have a go at, theres a Miffy game which again has awful controls but the kids liked it weirdly. 3 year old might like the Learning with the PooYoo games, but are VERY limited. Bomberman maybe for the 5 year old

Oh and Manhunt 2 and Madworld*

    *Or not.

Oh and avoid a game called Cosmic Family. REALLY BAD.

My daughter just turned 5 and has been playing Mario Kart for over a year now. She loves it and finds the 50cc easy enough to win most races.

I agree, the rejig of the forums a good while back, possibly improved the PS3 and Xbox 360 forum experience, but, in my opinion, it was to the detriment of the Nintendo forum, which is smaller and has less users and less multiplatform game titles.

    Anyhoo, off-topic, sorry

Back on topic, easy to play, to start with anyway, is Lets Tap, tapping a box to make your little stickish man run. Theres a Just Dance Juniors game or something similar which might be good for the younger ones too?

    A Boy and his Blob.

    Relatively easy platformer.
    Completely gorgeous 2D graphics.

AND IT HAS A HUG BUTTON!!

The 3 year old will probably enjoy Disney Princess Wii, my own daughter loves it. It's perfect for younger kids because everything is spoken in the game, there's no reading to be done.

I enjoyed what i played so far of the new kirby game: Kirby's Adventure Wii. seems like it'd be suited for kids, along the lines of new super mario bros wii as well, up to 4 people...drop in, drop out :)
