    Hi There,

I am just wondering if anyone else has applied for this PRSI refund. My sister told me about this about 5 weeks ago, She applied and got a cheque within 5-6 weeks. I reckon it has got alot busier as more people are aware of the refund and everyone seems to be doing it. I am just wonering if anyone else applied around start of October and still waiting or how long you where waiting on this ?

    Many Thanks :D

    You can't get PRSI refunds.

You may be thinking of the Health levy, which is often included with PRSI on payslips.

In some situations, you may be able to get a Health Levy refund.

I sent letter in november as did my hubby but heard nothing back! :-(

So just to be clear, you can't claim back PRSI? I was a TCO for the summer and paid around 260 in PRSI and in my way of thinking I can claim it back because I was only employed for 3 and a half months this year

No harm in sending in a letter requesting a refund for those years.. Its all over Facebook at mo. I sent letter in but got no reply. yet every other person I talk to has received something.. They have been inundated with letters so trying to be patient.;)

If you take the 14 weeks unpaid after maternity leave, you can claim back to PRSI you pay through you employment.

i posted a letter off at the end of January and still have not had any info from them. Does anyone know where i could phone and hopefully get an answer to how long it will take to get this refund

I also posted a letter at the end of January. Rang them (no answer) to see if they had even received my letter.

I got straight through to a message saying 'they are currently processing applications that were received in December 2011'

I managed to get through to someone in a completely different department who told me that the department who are responsible for dealing with the refunds are now not answering the phone and are not dealing with queries because they are 'so busy' processing refund applications.

The problem is I dont even know if they received my letter. What if it got lost in the post?
