    Hello,
I have a nice mature green beech hedge and I am planting a clump of Himalayan Birch in front of it in a corner. I'd like some nice bright grass for gound cover, but not too high - maybe about a foot. The ground is a bit dampish, but not waterlogged - I believe those grasses like good drainage.
If there isn't a variety that won't take a bit of damp, any other recommendatios for ground cover with a bit of winter colour and contrast?

    Thanks, in anticipation.

Carex Testacea or Molinia Caerulea (Moor grass) should do ok there if it is not too shaded.
