My home button has been acting up for a few months now, I need to press really hard a few times for it to come on. The following may not work or everyone but it worked for me first time: plug the charger cable in, swipe to unlock then hold the home button down until Voice Control comes up then press Cancel. Seemingly it resets the home button. Whether it does or not I'm not sure but my home button is back to normal now.

Will try it later. The Hoover method didn't work for me. Hope this does.

if your home button works fine when the phone is charging its a software problem and you just reset the home button then. Problem gone:)

Happens all 4's sooner or later
    I'd suggest a new button

Yeah. I am assuming a physical repair will be needed before I sell it on in Feb. definitely seems liked a case of planned obselence on apples part. Can't have a phone lasting for years now can we.
Haven't come across a non physical fix that's worked for everyone and I've been twarling the net for weeks now.

this is the iphone4 button flex(a cheap copy by the looks of it at that)

eventually dirt gets under the silver circle making it harder to make contact on pushing

the reason this works has nothing to do with the software you think you are spoofing, it is because you are pressing the button so firmly that it is realigning on the tape that is holding it down.

Got a quote of €60-€80 to fix the problem.

    €80 is a rip off
    I'd expect to pay a company €40-50max
