Both fighters are up for it. Talking about a date sometime in March.

And it will be mega hyped, folks will fall for it, folks will pay for it, and it will end up another damp squib. But, at least haye and Vitali will be happy with the massive payout.

Did Haye not effectively retire a few weeks ago, didn't request a new licence?

I'd doubt haye is up for this at all. His agent etc would be mad for it though! He wont get crazy money like his last fight. He could recieve a horrendus beating. I'd say he would be more up for 'strictly come dancing'

He would, Haye - Vitali will sell big. Sky Sports will hype it up and people will fall for it like the last one.

He can reapply for that license anytime.

10er bet Haye gets a punch in the ovaries two days before the fight hindering performance on fight night.

I'd like to see it happen just so Vitali can get a big payday

What a mismatch.. I hope it's not going too be as boring as vlad v haye.

In my eyes vitali is a better boxer than vlad so i cant see haye even making it to the decision..

Would like to see Vitali get to beat up on Haye a bit, but other then that I hope this never happens, Haye doesnt deserve it...... My theory is that he has retired so he wouldnt have to earn a shot at Vitali, like he should have to, but the pr machine will crank up and he will come out of retirement for just one fight to settle the unfinished business he has with the Klitschkos

Yeah that's about right. He didn't do or deserve anything at Heavyweight, he should fight Adamek and work for his title shot like everyone else.

Id really like to see that one.
If this fight happens Sky will hype it up on the adds with something along the lines of 'beaten controversially, (because of) broken toe, Wlad's brother, revenge/payback'.

I wonder was the retirement just a ruse to ensure a big money return?
Vitali, having seen that no other opponent is as big a draw, has probably made a big offer to Haye. I think Haye was confident of this happening all along.

While people will say they've no interest in seeing this, we'll all watch it just to see if Vitali can knock Haye out.

Haye, if the acting career doesn't work out, should consider wrasslin', he'd make a great heel!

Meanwhile if I was a top 10 fighter I'd be pissed off if this fight takes place.

I hope you're trolling. Haye wouldn't have a hope if this match were to go ahead.

I think that the retirement was genuine in that he and his trainer had always planned that he would retire on that exact date at the age of 31, but when he " retired" he knew full well that a Vitali fight was a po$$iblilty around the corner

I think this fight would give Vitali a big pot that he deserves, I would call it a testimoney fight for him. I hope Haye is embarassed into turning up to fight this time..if it happens

Vitalia next opponent will be March 3rd and confirmation of his next opponent will be made on December 10th , after Vladamirs fight

Chisora and Vitali to fight Febuary 18th in Munich. They reckon if Haye was to get a shot it'd be in June at least.

Obviously vitali would be big favourite but i think it would make for a more exciting fight than wlad as wlad just hid behind the jab and controlled the fight without risking anything. Vitali would be actively pressing and looking for the KO and so might just might open himself up for a few nasty counters.

Haye is far too cautious a fighter to risk getting hurt. He ran away from Valuev, took him three rounds to throw a punch against Fraudley and was very happy just to collect his purse against Wlad. A fight with an altogether more imposing man in Vitali can only be more of a damp squib (as a contest anyway). In fact, despite earning a huge amount Haye hasn't delivered one remotely interesting contest at heavyweight. Nothing against him personally but i hope he stays retired for the sports sake.

If I never see David Haye fight again, it will be too soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,986 ✭✭✭Spazdarn

I one side of things I'd like to see Haye get a good beating and Vitali get his big payday.... but on the other side I don't think Haye deserves the fight, really dislike Adam Booth also and despite Vitali's best efforts it would be a terrible fight.

I actually think this would be a good fight. If it happens, and I'm not otherwise engaged I'd definitely go.

Haye would find it easier to land on Vitali, and with Vitali's iron chin + arm punching style, nobody will be KO'd early.
