could someone settle a bet boys?

does the use of the ever more common auto's and semi autos in the test for C and EC class result in you only being able to use that type of box,how does the clutch pedal semi auto fit in there aswell.

If you pass in an Auto you're restricted to an auto gearbox, I personally would avoid this. If you pass in a Semi-Auto you'll have both manual/auto rights as there is a clutch on the vechicle.

As Faith said your better of doing the test in a manual stay away from doing the test even in a semi auto box,There f**king crap to drive many a time while driving and coming upto a roundabout the truck would stay in to high of a gear or drop to low causing excessive revs.
With a manual you can use the gears and exhaust brake to slow down alot better but these days most companies are using semi auto boxes,Put it this way I have a choice between driving a brand new 11d reg(semi auto) or drive a 07d reg manual I keep going for the 07 one.;)

The test is changing next year iirc, and you will have to do your test in a manual split box anyway........

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

It's considererd a Semi-Auto however if you pass your test in one at the moment you'll have a Manual licence because it has a clutch.
What Galway is saying about the new rules is news to me.
