Blind Jim evidently drove Dublin to Galway at the weekend and missed the end of the motorway where the speed limit dropped to 120kph to 100kph ( and with helpful end of Motorway signs placed thereabouts) some 2km east of the roundabout in Doughiska.

Much to his surprise he had to smack on the brakes at the end of the 100kph Dual Carriageway stretch because he was still doing 120kph on a 100kph section.

There is a call for graduated speed limits on the M6 approach into Galway city.
North West MEP, Jim Higgins says motorists approaching the Doughiska roundabout off the motorway need a longer adjustment phase.
MEP Higgins says there are safety concerns with the current status of dropping from 120 kilometres an hour to 50 kilometres an hour in a short distance.

2km is not a short distance Jim, is there a specsavers in Brussels???
