    Hey Folks,
I'm thinking of getting a new AMP for gigging. I'm currently using a MicroCube (no laughing at the back) and DIing it straight through a PA as I have a PA. I absolutely love the conveniance of it and it sounds good to my ears for clean, blues to classic rock sounds.

The only real complaint is the lack of a footswitch to change between rhythm and lead tones. I looked at the Roland XL range as they have a channel select and "Solo" channel, but it looks a bit too fiddley as you would need to set the tone then set the Lead setting if you were going from dirty-clean to classic-rock.

The reviews for the Vox VT40+ look great - and I am really impressed with the demos:

I plan to get it along wit the footswitch:

so I can have 8 tones (which would really do me).

The only drawback I see is if I want to DI the Amp into a PA. It does not seem like it is really designed for this. I kind of want to avoid having to Mic it as that can add an extra point of failure in a live setting - and is a science in itself :)

Has anybody used the Vox VT40+ for this and have any opinions?
    Any other options?
