Hey everyone a friend of mine recently decided that he was no longer happy studying medicine (after 3 yrs, tough choice). He has been recieving a student grant for the last 2 years (undergrad course).

I heard that you only get one shot to get the grant, which is fair enough! and if u drop out you have to pay full fees next time round if u do another undergrad.

Do you know if its the case that you might still recieve maybe 1-2 years of the grant for a new course. He had only recieved the grant for the first 2 years and would have recieved it for 5 if he completed the course!

I doubt it but i said i would ask!

    ???

he probably wouldn't get the grant for years 1-3 of a different course

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If he goes back to college in a different course he would have to spend the same duration in college at his own expense. If he has a five year break in study he can go back again and get fully funded provided they dont change the rules in the meantime!
