    Hi

I am looking to get my car serviced. Its an opel astra, so I was going to stick it into Kenilworth Motors in Harolds Cross for 249EUR, but that seemed a little steep. Anyone have any recommendations ?

    Thanks

    Kieran

if you're a member of the aa - I got them out to my place of work and they serviced it really cheaply - didn't rip me off saying it needed anything - said it was fine and charged for the service.

Well what are they doing for €249? You can't compare any prices untill you know that.

So if it needed something they would have been ripping you off ? If it needed someting done and they didn't pick up on it and tell you then they were ripping you off .. I would prefer to know

A service really depends what is needed/recommended by the manufacturer.

Some services are just an oil/filter change while other recommended services can widely vary from also needing spark plugs/air filter/fuel filter/timing belt/water pump/brake fluid change.

Not forgetting other wear/tear items that are only replaced when they are running low, break pads/discs, clutches, tyres etc etc

So, we need to know whats included for €249 to say if its good/bad value

Assuming its a 1.4 petrol bolands in clondalkin will do a full service , incl all filters (oil, air, fuel and pollen)and spark plugs for 199.00. They will also report any extras required and you can decide what additional work to do.

If you can get 4x filters, oil and plugs for under €200, its fabulous value
