New Alloy Wheels for VW Golf

    Just bought a 2008 golf which came with base wheels and hub caps. I also have 4 new snow tyres for it so thinking about putting them on these base wheels and then transferring the normal tyres to some proper wheels.

    Its a diesel golf so do not want anything flash and do not want to spend much on them. So my question is where do you all get your alloys? Any recommendations for something basic and cheap? (prefer new)

    If I were you I would buy a good secondhand set of original VW alloys.

    Whereabouts are you?
    Guy here where I live has a s/h set of Genuine Golf GTI wheels for sale. @ €150 I think.

    Might need a small sand and a coat of lacquer
    I have seen them and they look good.

    A) a Golf

    When you say a small sand and some lacquer, how bad are they?Have they got that dreaded worm?

    No,
    Not any that I saw but can have a closer look for you.
    AFAIK, only one wheel damaged, Very slight rub on a kerb. Just scrope the lacquer. No deep marks on them (it)

    nice wheels bit will probably look a bit silly on my golf!

    They came off a Golf so should look ok.

    Your wheels would be 5x100
    these would be 5x112
    Wont fit yours sorry :o
