Help to uninstall M Security Essentials

    I got a blue screen on netbook op:windows xp yesterday, rebooted machine now seems ok, but MSE is not functioning when i try to uninstall from add/remove programmes it says cannot complete uninstall wizard error code-
    0X8007064C. would appreciate advice as at moment netbook is being used without anti virus software, many thanks:)

    there is a video on the link as well. be smart and use an antivirus program or you will get infected. there are free ones out there like avast, it got good reviews and you can download a free firewall just google cnet or some other site... http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

    I would also recommend you download malwarebytes free and do a scan because like you say, you are not using any antivirus security and might already be infected.

    many thanks zenno, having put a bit thought into it, i went back to a restore point on pc from last week, it then allowed me remove mse, i then downloaded and installed mse and ran a virus check, but i probably should install your recommendation for malware bytes do you agree?:)

    yes. download malwarebytes and when installed let it update itself and do a full scan just to make sure the computer is clean.

    malwarebytes highly recommended.
