Saturday morning picking out my teams for my normal flutter ,sick of one result letting me down week after week .
So decide to let my young lad (8)pick the teams .

    1. Man Utd 8/15 .no surprise there.
    2. Everton 4/6 because there my last man standing choice this week.
    3. Hull 6/4 Because he liked them in the premiership..
    4. Watford 7/5 Reminds him of Waterford
    5. Cardiff 9/4 Havn't a clue why :D
    6. QPR 10/3 Only reason I can think of ..Is his 8 :)

Get in €640.00 return for my €3 stake:D:D

Anyway just had to share :D:D...

Glen Johnson's solo winner for Liverpool earned one lucky punter more than €500,000 as his 19-team accumulator paid off. The mystery gambler from Malta hit bookmaker William Hill hard and all for a stake less than a pound!

Johnson's goal landed record odds of 683,738/1 from Hill's for the 41-year old gambler. His previous 18 predictions had already won, leaving his entire wager – at that stage already £152,000 - riding on the outcome of the Chelsea-Liverpool game in which the visitors were 7/2 underdogs.

The punter, from a small village in Malta, who placed his bet online at www.williamhill.com and has never staked more than €1 on any bet he has placed, collected €683,739 for his €1 stake – which translates to £585,143.24.

"We cannot recall any punter winning either this much on an accumulator, or landing such stratospheric odds - even though he wasn’t a Liverpool fan before, he tells us he is now!" said William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe.

"Football punters were already celebrating the biggest winning weekend in living memory as all the best fancied teams in the Premier League, Championship, Leagues One & Two, Blue Square, SPL and William Hill Scottish Cup turned out be winners."

"This late winner in the final game of the weekend left us feeling about as cheerful as under-pressure Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas," added Mr Sharpe.

    Incredible!!!

I wonder did he withdraw his life savings or borrow a few grand and put it on Chelsea/Draw to cover himself slightly?!?!?

Can't imagine how he must've felt when Johnson went through on goal!

The most he has ever bet is a euro so he didn't do it with William Hill :)

I just placed my first ever football bet online for tomorrow.

I picked the following teams to win:
    Stoke City
    Everton
    Manchester United
    Chelsea
    Tottenham Hotspur

    Wish me luck! :D

5 euro bet with a return of 73 euro.

Brilliant, love hearing stories like that, hope you two have a great day at whatever match you chose to go see. I'm sure he will love to go see United play no matter what, I wasn't taken over til I was 14 but I still have fond memories of that day :D
