    Hi,
I have a 3000 PSI power washer that i am finding hard to start lately when hot. Its a honda engine 6hp Replica. When i pull the start cord the engine starts and can swing over slowly for ages, When i try to adjust the choke it is slow in stabilizing the engine speed to full throttle revs, When i get it started it runs and there seems to be no problems, ie no reaving up and down.

What could be the issue? Is it that its not getting enough petrol at start up(cold). Could there be an issue with the Carburetor, Has anyone ever had the issue before with these.

One cause that is fairly easy to check is to take off the carb, take it apart and blow it out with an airline.

Loads of videos on youtube showing you how

What's the oil level like. If its too low there could be an automatic cut off switch which causes it to run like this.

Hi, I was talking to a guy that fixes small petrol engines, He told me that it was the Symprons of an electrical fault in the Ignition Coil i.e. its easy to start when cold however when hot it is harder to get it started, It doesnt seem to be the Carburetor as once it is running there is no issues, I will replace the Coil and see does this help.

Are you using choke to start a hot engine?
