All right i was at a garage yesterday and i test drove a fiat 88-94 and its a nice tractor to drive an all but i was woundering what are they like as a tractor. i would be using it for rapping bringing in a few bales but then there woud be a few times where id be using a dump trailer on it and wat would it be like with it. i was also thinking about going to have a look at this 100-90 http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/tractors/2678936 its a bit rough but for 6500 with loader and 5500 with out i wounder would it be worth viewing all labour would be free to do it up as id be at it mu self and a 100-90 would suite be better as its 6cyclinder and be betterfor pulling and id be able to mow with it and stuff. thanks

Hi Valtra8150.. If you dont mind me asking how much is the 88-94 going for? We have had two of them in the past and still have one on the farm. Its a grand tractor, handy about the yard and wouldnt be bad in the field either.. The one we still have has a loader, they're great loader tractors, manual shuttle is a great job. We used ours for wrapping bales a few times and to be honest it wasnt the best, the hydraulic pump isnt the fastest but you can upgrade the pump easily enough i think. As for dump trailer work, you wouldnt want to go over 12ton and 10ton should be grand. The splitter gear on the shuttle is handy for hills! I wouldn't know much about the 100-90's but we have a 110-90.. its a great workhouse , brilliant puller but it has the same slow hydraulic pump as the 88's. The 90 series are very light in the backend aswell for loader work but a counter-weight should level things out grand. Youd be lucky to get an 88-94 for 12-14K and then the 100-90's would be a fair bit cheaper. Hope this was of help to you

well dongegal09 the 88 is going for 14 grand the 100 i thinking bout is going for 5500. if that a good tractor id sell my own/ id get about 7 for mine which would make 1500 profit and then my brother puts a ew together wed buy a loader as wed both use it durning the summer but it would be pointless if the two of us baught one each

looking to buy a fiat 88 94 without loader, 93 to 96 approx. Hope to get one with about 4000 hrs. It is impossible to get a genuine one of these tractors. Anyone any idea where I could buy one and roughly what kind of money.

when buying 88-94 always check which injector pump is on them. some of the english imports had a cav rotary pump which wasnt near as good as the bosch(i think) for sheer torque

You'll really struggle to get one to fit all those criteria I'm afraid.

Maybe a few in England still if you are willing to bring one over.

Tks for the help. It appears to be the only option to import one. Any of the tractors I looked at here were in poor condition and had done a alot of work. I will keep looking

Don't know anything about the 100 90 but I'd stay away from the 88 94, our one at home has had 3 clutches put into it in the last 5 years. Also the front part of the cab is way too low, I've hopped my head off it countless times and it hurts! They're good enough to pull, I've often had an 18 foot silage trailer on it and she manages away fine.

EDIT: just realised it's from November 2011 :p

I personally go for a 80-90 or 90-90.. More common and more reliable..We operate a 90-90 on a wrapper and for drawing bales..great little tractor!

i have a 90-90 and if you are more than 5 foot 8 inches, you will have a hump on you, looking out of the screen. Good to pull, but very basic hydraulic controls etc. Bit of a cult following here in ireland, it seems.
