    Guys,

    I built a htpc about a year ago.Its running with a m4a785gt-v evo and an amd phenom x 4.I have just 2gb of crucial ballistix ddr3 pc3 10600 installed in it and want to go to 4gb.do i have to get the same brand memory or can i get something with the same specs?

    RAM with similar specs will do fine

    www.memoryc.ie are pritty good and based in Kildare :) Good luck anyways, if you buy a module of the same rating it should also run in Dual Channel mode

    if you have a 32bit OS then it will only see about 3.2 - 3.5gb of that memory as the rest is used for other things
