Hi guys we have a standard oil fired heating system house build 5years ago the problem is up in the hot press there is a valve to let water into the system.

When the pressure goes down on the dial. Now when the pressure is at 0 the heating wont work very well but why is the pressure going down iv checked the little brass bottles that let air out and its not there nor can i see a leak

Would it be ok to leave the valve for filling the system on so it keeps filling and heating will work

No, You must not leave the loop conected.

Sounds like you have a leak, you could check the presure relieve valve for leakage but its really one for the plumber.

Maybe try using a leak sealer (oxy-pic or something similar) and see if it resolves your problem, use exactly as per instructions
