Honda Accord 17's 18's or 19's?

So I sold the old A4 and found a nice kitted Accord last week, its currently on 235/35/19's with a 19 inch BBS rims, but realistically they're an awful wheel on Irish roads!
The tyres and rims are only 3 weeks old so I'd be hoping to get a decent price for them. But I was wondering would a 17 be a good choice? Considering its lowered 40mm too I'd be inclined to think the 17 would give the best of both worlds on a 225/40 tyre maybe, but I just want to get some opinions??
I cant see much point in just dropping to an 18, but at the same time I dont want to spoil the look of the car by putting on a dwarfed rim!

17's on an Accord would be plenty

Yeah they looked well on the A4, and should be improved with this being lowered. Plus a thicker tyre can only be a good thing!

I don't see the appeal of big alloys on a car, they look stupid in my opinion.

Then you've got all the extra problems of prohibitively expensive tyres, significant increase in unsprung weight (disimproving the effectiveness of the suspension components and increasing wear and tear) and increase in rotational mass (decreasing acceleration and stopping power of brakes)

But that's me, I drive because I enjoy it, not because I want to show off

On Jap stuff I'd tend to agree but on some German cars big wheels look awesome. 19s on an M3 look

Maybe it was my fault in writing but I want to get rid of the 19's and get something smaller! I was just wondering is a 17 going to be as bad as the 19? The Accord was sold with a 16 inch rim and some people swear its the ONLY wheel you can put on it, but the Sport model was sold with a 17!

I've seen a set of Fox FX004's for €350, any opinions on them???

(Going to be buying in Ireland, just using this link for handiness!)

Just thought I'd drop by with an update, changed the big 19's for a set of 17 inch Honda Euro R wheels that I got second hand for reasonable money and they came with Toyo Proxes. (TR1 I think?) I'm not totally happy with the look of them on the car, but its much nicer to drive so thats the main problem solved.

Has anyone ever experienced any major problems running 19's though? If they're balanced and aligned will they do any other mechanical damage or are the rumours just put out there by people with no real clue?
